Novaskill Trainers and Assessors are the backbone of our RTO (Registered Training Organisation). Every day, our trainers provide invaluable support and opportunities, to educate and train our vast cohort of students.
Bringing years of industry experience and a wealth of knowledge from their respective sectors, our Trainers and Assessors work collaboratively with our student engagement team, to ensure the Novaskill learning journey is second to none.

What do I need to be considered?
Successful completion of the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with upgrade units; TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools. This qualification provides a specialised set of skills required to train and assess competency within the Australian Vocational Education System. as well as relevant and up to date qualifications in the industry they are teaching.
Do I need to have experience?
Experience working as a trainer and assessor is not essential, but always a bonus. However, currency within your chosen field is essential. Therefore, it is expected your knowledge and experiences will be current and you will possess a desire for professional development.
What do Novaskill Trainers and Assessors do?
In a nutshell, trainers and assessors are responsible for the development of student knowledge and skills. An average day will involve tasks such as:
- Identifying student learning needs and creating effective learning strategies
- Providing student advice regarding course content, assessment requirements and/or training progress
- Facilitation of learning programs through use of presentations, workshops, lab sessions, computer tutorials, etc.
- Course work and assessment marking and feedback
- Maintenance of student records and assessment outcomes, including course progress, attendance and activities undertaken
- Planning, design, and development of program materials
- In some cases, onsite visits to student workplaces
What can I teach at Novaskill?
Unlike other RTO’s, Novaskill offers a wide range of courses in many vocations. So, depending on your qualifications and experiences, you may be able to teach the following:
- Aged and Disability Care
- Business Services (including Leadership and Management)
- Community Services (including Aged Care)
- Construction and Carpentry
- Hospitality
- Retail
- Warehousing
- Horticulture
Can I apply if I’m currently completing my TAE?

Is the role flexible?
Yes! Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available across all branches
