On Saturday, October 23, 2021, our Newcastle team took part in the ‘I Run For Her’ community fundraising event, to support our friends at Got Your Back Sista. The annual event aims to raise awareness and funds for those suffering from domestic violence in our community.

Proudly supported by The Sistahood, the team came together for the first time in months after working from home during the Coronavirus lockdown, to walk a very impressive 12kms along the Newcastle coastline.

Beginning at Merewether beach and walking along The Bathers Way to Nobbys Lighthouse and back, our ambitious crew stood out by proudly wearing their “I Say NO to Domestic Violence” shirts.

Finishing with an enormous sense of accomplishment, a little sunburn, and a few blisters, team captain Nikola Verco said “I’m so proud of our team for taking part in this event. Domestic Violence is NEVER OK and it was so nice to see our team rally together and really get behind this cause.”

General Manager, Amanda Saunders, congratulated the team of 6 employees and 2 friends, and said “our Newcastle team definitely carried the Novaskill flag and waved it proudly. I’m so proud of everyone”.

Collectively, the Novaskill Newcastle Sistahood team, raised over $2,000 and were excited to learn their contribution lead to a grand total of over $90,000 for the organization.
