If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
Definitely Microsoft Excel, because it is my most basic skill 😅
What do you do to turn things around when you’re having a bad day?
If I am feeling overwhelmed by the day, I try to take ten minutes out to get a coffee and listen to a good song, then clear your head and get everything down on paper (I’m a massive fan of the to-do list), and realistically allocate what you can achieve today and what can wait. Put your future jobs list out of sight, and then carry on. Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help!! I don’t always follow my own advice on this but I SHOULD because so many people are willing to help if you just reach out, and the weight off your shoulders can be massive!! I also have a tendency to write down anything I have done for the day that wasn’t on my list, just to cross it off, because BOOM you have to pat yourself on the back for that stuff 😂
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
I try to make sure I go on an early morning walk every single day. It gets me out into the fresh air, gives me an opportunity to listen to a podcast or some music, and I get to see and pat all the happy dogs which is my favourite part!
What’s one thing you’re learning now, and why is it important?
Many of these aren’t really new learnings to me, but in our current environment, it is becoming so obvious how incredibly important some of them are. So much about leadership, and life in general really, is about being kind to people, appreciating them and just being a good person. Showing empathy, giving people time and respect, and being honest and genuine. You don’t always need to be the serious one in every situation either,  SO many people enjoy a good laugh and we all need some joy to get through our day!! No matter what happens in life, be good to people, it’s such a wonderful legacy to leave behind.
What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?
That Australian Paralympic medalists will now receive equivalent monetary payments as Olympic medalists. Wow, I can’t believe this this was never already the case, but it made me so happy to read that the Government had finally come to their senses on this one! Also, my dog Frankie makes me smile every day!
