Careers with councils have so much to offer!

Job stability, great working conditions, and generous pay rates, are just some of the many reasons that careers within local councils are among the most highly sought-after positions, in the region!

In partnership with several local councils, Novaskill is proud to offer a select number of eligible candidates, a position in the Local Council Career Path Project.

This purpose-built 2 week program will give candidates an exclusive introduction to kickstarting a career as an apprentice or trainee at your local council. With a choice of either office-based business administration skills, or hands-on construction orientated skills, this program will provide 2 Nationally Accredited units of competency* (which you may be able to put towards a later full qualification), local government focused resume writing skills, generalized communications basics, and a WHS White Card** (for those choosing the construction-orientated option).

Commencing in early February 2021, the program will consist of 1 week of classroom-based learning, followed by an additional week of on-the-job work experience.

*Nationally Accredited Units of Competency include BSBCMM201 Communicate in the workplace and BSBWOR203 Work effectively with others – upon successful completion, a Statement of Attainment will be issued by HGT Australia (trading as Novaskill) RTO 6996.
** WHS White Card refers CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry – upon successful completion, a Statement of Attainment will be issued by Allens Training RTO No. 90909.

We’re taking expressions of interest now and encourage anyone aged 16-25 years old, and living in the Ballina, Lismore, Kyogle or Richmond Valley regions, to apply now!
