
The Opportunity –
Novaskill is excited to partner with a leading and highly respected engineering company to offer a Fitter Apprenticeship. This incredible opportunity provides you with hands-on, comprehensive training and continuous support from a welcoming and dedicated team.
You’ll complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting), gaining hands-on experience and valuable qualifications in your chosen field.
Your Responsibilities –
- Complete requires OH&S reporting, including Take 5’s, JHA’s, safety inspections incident reporting
- Carry out repairs to equipment
- Completing modifications to equipment
- Assisting the strip, assess, repair and rebuild process of all mechanical equipment
- Compliance with responsibilities relating to the terms of the training contract as an apprentice (training, attendance & attaining of competencies)
- Completion of all allocated work as part of the “on the job” training supplied by the host employer
- Adhere to all legislative requirements and to other companies’ policies and/or procedures
- Always Represent Novaskill and host employer in a positive and responsible manner
- Any other duties as reasonably directed by your supervisor
What You Bring –
- Ability to take and carry out instructions and direction under supervision from Manager, Supervisor, or Qualified Trades personnel
- Interest in a manufacturing and aftermarket service environment
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Current manual car drivers license
- Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces as required after relevant training
- High level of physical fitness to perform the job requirements
- Team player, able to interface positively with all team members
What We’re Looking For –
- Passion for hands-on mechanical work and learning
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
- A strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Previous experience in mechanical work or trade school qualification is an advantage, but not essential
