What is Group Training and how does it work?

Group training is a risk and stress free means of employing apprentices and trainees.
Designed to keep things simple for the businesses, Group Training is an arrangement where Novaskill, the Group Training Organisation (GTO), employs the apprentice (or trainee) and then carefully matches that individual with a suited host employer for on-the-job-training and supervision.
Novaskill assumes the employer responsibilities and includes initial recruitment (including interviewing and aptitude testing), inductions and pre-employment checks and medicals, training contract establishment and other relevant paperwork, WHS training and obligations, payroll and leave entitlements, insurance, Work Cover and workers compensation claims, performance management (checks with TAFE/formal training providers) and ongoing mentoring and assistance by a dedicated field officer to ensure quality, continuity and success throughout the entire apprenticeship (or traineeship).
Group Training reduces risk, paperwork and keeps things simple.
“With the support of my workmates at JA Martin and my Field Officer at Novaskill, I have been able to excel in my apprenticeship and set myself up for a successful career in the electrical industry.”
– Matthew Hayes, 2018 NSW Apprentice of the Year
