As the population continues to age, there’s an ever growing need for community service workers. Following an individualised plan, workers provide person-centred support to those most vulnerable in our community. This qualification is the minimum requirement for people working in the aged care industry and offers students the opportunity to develop and practice specialised skills. Units of Competency
Students complete 15 units.
Delivery
This course can be delivered online, face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, or as a combination of both. Please ask for more details.
Duration
Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer as a traineeship for a maximum of 12 months.

Work Placement
This qualification requires a minimum of 120 hours of work placement to give you real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practice what you learn.
Pre-requisites
There are no specific pre-requisites for this course, however, students must hold a current Australian Federal Police Check. A current First Aid Certificate is also recommended. Please ask for more details. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.

Friendly support, advice and assistance is provided by our teaching staff and Student Services Division to all students.
Pathways
Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support, CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support or CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services.
