With the latest theories and practical approaches, this qualification allows students to explore the critical capabilities that make an effective manager. Students will plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources. This qualification covers a holistic approach to the role of the management discipline within industry, business and society, and promotes the ability to identify factors that impact most on success.

It includes planning and implementing financial management approaches, supporting team members whose role involves aspects of financial operations, monitoring and controlling finances and reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to create an environment that enables and supports the application of innovative practice focusing on a holistic approach to the integration of innovation across all areas of work practice.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to lead and manage effective workplace relationships.

  • BSBLDR511 Develop and use emotional intelligence

This unit covers the development and use of emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the context of the workplace.

  • BSBMGT517 Manage operational plan

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and monitor implementation of the operational plan to provide efficient and effective workplace practices within the organisation’s productivity and profitability plans.

  • BSBMGT516 Facilitate continuous improvement

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to lead and manage continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on the development of systems and the analysis of information to monitor and adjust performance strategies, and to manage opportunities for further improvements.

  • BSBHRM513 Manage workforce planning

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to manage planning in relation to an organisation’s workforce including researching requirements, developing objectives and strategies, implementing initiatives and monitoring and evaluating trends.

Students complete 12 units.

Delivery

This course can be delivered online, face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, or as a combination of both. Please ask for more details.

Duration

Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer as a traineeship for a maximum of 24 months.

Work Placement

This qualification does not require mandatory work placement. However, access to a workplace will provide a real-life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practice what you learn.

There are no specific pre-requisites for this course. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.

Pathways

Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in BSB51915 Diploma of Leadership and Management or BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management. *Novaskill may not offer these qualifications.

Articulation Pathway

Graduates can articulate to a Bachelor of Business where they will receive up to 96 credit points (33% of their Bachelor degree)! **  ** This may alter based on the University you choose to study with.
