Carpentry Apprenticeship 2nd year

Opportunity –

Novaskill, in partnership with a range of respected local businesses, is excited to offer multiple Carpentry Apprenticeship opportunities, including on-the-job training with ongoing mentoring and support to help you start building your career.

You’ll be completing a nationally recognised Certificate III in Carpentry, while gaining practical experience and receiving ongoing support from industry professionals as you develop the skills needed for a successful and lasting career in construction.

 

Learning outcomes –

  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Carry out general demolition of minor building structures
  • Install and replace windows and doors
  • Install lining, panelling and moulding, and flooring systems
  • Construct wall and ceiling frames, pitched roofs, eaves, and timber external stairs

 

Course outcomes –

  • An understanding of how to work safely in construction
  • Experience following instruction and completing carpentry tasks in a real workplace
  • Collaborate in a team to solve key carpentry challenges
  • The ability to communicate specifications and project updates to your managers, team, and clients
  • Experience prioritising tasks and managing your time on the job
  • A carpentry trade qualification

 

Duties & Responsibilities –

  • Communicate professionally and warmly with clients.
  • Provide daily job updates to the business owner.
  • Work efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other carpenters and tradespeople and work independently when necessary.
  • Follow instructions from a remote supervisor.
  • Measure job requirements and inspect completed work for quality.
