Meet Tammy

Title: Senior Indigenous Employment Officer (Mentor)

Area: Newcastle and the Hunter Region

What do you love about your job? I love meeting young people and supporting them through their journey of employment and/or study and helping them overcome any issues they may face along the way. Watching them grow and become real role models in Community. Gives those warm and fuzzy feels J

What do you do on weekends? I spend time with the family/grandbabies and try to keep the house in order. Through winter – I also play Rugby Union/League.

What is your favourite movie/TV show? I have a couple of fave movies – they are all true stories (well, based on a true story)– Coach Carter, The Rookie and Glory Road – LOVE them!! TV shows – I like Bones.

Tell us something we don’t know about you. I AM BATMAN! Jokes!!!  I played Gridiron for NSW

Meet Alex

Title: Program Coordinator and Aamped Mentor

Area: Central Coast

What do you love about your job?I’m really passionate about the youth of the Central Coast and helping them achieve their goals through Traineeships and Apprenticeships.

What do you do on weekends? Play sport and spend time with family and friends.

What is your favourite movie/TV show? Rocky or Bad Boys

What do you love about your job? Helping young people set goals and achieve them

What do you do on weekends? Mow lawns and enjoy a bet and drink with mates

Tell us something we don’t know about you. I’ve shared a beer or two with members of AC/DC in France was staying in same motel.

Meet Chris

Title: Indigenous Employment Officer and Mentor

Area: Central Coast and surrounds

What do you love about your job? I love being able to make a genuine difference in people’s lives an being able to help them reach their goals and achieve positive change with the help of the amazing team we have at our branch.

What do you do on weekends? Spend time with my family and work on my 67 Chevy Impala, also go camping whenever we get the chance.

What is your favourite movie/TV show? Ghostbusters or any Batman movie I am a massive Batman nerd!

What is something we don’t know about you? I love reading and writing action adventure and thriller novels and short stories.

Meet Troy

Title: Mentoring Officer

Area: Newcastle and surrounds

What do you love about your job? Helping Apprentices and Trainees achieve the goals they have set for themselves which in turn gives me great job satisfaction and the great support I have had from my co-workers.

What do you do on weekends? Spending time with my family and watching my children play sport and taking my best mate for a walk.

Favourite Movie/TV show? All of the Austin Powers movies and Seinfeld.

What is something we don’t know about you? I once scored 101 not out in Under 11s cricket (the field was very small)

Meet Nicolle

Title: Mentoring Officer

Area: Ballina and Northern Rivers region

What do you love about your job? I have a real desire to support trainees and apprentices in achieving their goals but my real passion lays within the area of Indigenous employment. This position allows me to be creative in giving a ‘help up’ not a ‘hand out’ to all clients on my growing caseload. I also get to learn something new every day as I approach new industries for a chance to meet their staff.

What do you do on weekends? I love to travel so weekends give me the opportunity for short getaways to explore the region. I also love spending time with my 2 year old German Shepherd pup named Gabriella. We go for walks to the park and beach.

What is something we don’t know about you? I love 70’s disco music, dancing and having fun. Laughter is the best medicine!

Meet Louis

Title: Mentoring Officer

Area: Newcastle and surrounds

What do you love about your job?Being able to support young apprentices and trainees through the start of their employment. The Aamped program is something I believe in and feel is a great resource for not only the apprentice or trainee but also the parents and family as it takes a bit of the pressure away.

What do you do on weekends? I spend the majority of my time on the weekend renovating our house which has been ongoing now for the past 2 years!

Favourite Movie/TV show? Anything with Denzel Washington in it/Seinfeld
