About the position
Novaskill are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work with our host employer in Salamander Bay as an Apprentice Timber and Composite Machinist, covering both wood machining and cabinet making in a factory setting. The duration of this apprenticeship is 3 years.
Working with our host employer, who is a family owned business which has been providing quality bathroom solutions for over 40 years, are looking for an experience individual with a strong work ethic, wanting to complete an apprenticeship with endless opportunities to progress in this industry.
For this role, you will be working with the state of the art machinery in a developing workplace, finish the trade with extensive knowledge of modern manufacturing production and studying a Certificate III Timber and Composites Machining. The nationally recognised Certificate III in Timber and Composites Machining will equip you with the skills and knowledge to carve out your dream career as a timber machinist, as you learn to create enviable timber furniture, décor and structural pieces with your personal craftmanship.
Who we’re looking for
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Have a White Card
- Year 10 complete preferred
- Ability to work autonomously but also in a team environment
- Be willing to be trained in operation of a range of saws and machines
- Ability to follow instructions and read detailed plans
- Be reliable and punctual
