About the position
Novaskill are currently seeking a full-time Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprentice to join one of our host employers based in the Mid North Coast region at South West Rocks.
Want to earn while you learn? This Light Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship will provide you with the perfect mix of practical on-the-job training and theory training as you will be completing a Certificate III Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology whilst earning a competitive wage. With the mix of practical and theory components, you will be set for a rewarding career.
Our host employer is a small business who prides themselves on high quality service. During your apprenticeship you will be working in a friendly and experienced team to help broaden your knowledge and skills of the automotive industry.
The duties you will be asked to perform as an Apprentice Mechanic can include:
- Perform quality service and repairs to all types of vehicles
- Display good communication skills and high level of customer service
- Diagnose faults and carry out regular maintenance
- Ability to complete job records with accuracy
- Testing and repairing basic electrical circuits
- Diagnose and repair light vehicle hydraulic braking systems
- Diagnose and repair spark ignition engine management systems

- Drivers Licence and reliable transport
- Committed to completing an apprenticeship
- Ability to perform a pre-employment medical assessment
- Obey Work Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and directions well
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
