Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Apprenticeship

About the position

Are you looking to jump start your career in the automotive industry? Do you enjoy practical, technical and hands on work?

Our host has been operating for over 80 years, providing quality, excellence, professionalism and innovation in the construction and heavy equipment industry.

They’re now seeking an enthusiastic and eager candidate who is looking to master their craft and begin their career as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.

The duties of the position include: 

  • Servicing and maintaining diesel engines and heavy vehicle components
  • Using computerised testing equipment to diagnose faults and re-program electronics
  • Testing, charging and replacing batteries and other electrical components
  • Strip downs and re-assembling of engines and components

 

 

Who we’re looking for

To be considered for these positions, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Drivers licence (automatic & manual transmission desirable but not essential)
  • Genuine interest in motor mechanics
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to commit to 4-year contract term and undertake a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
