Done with school or keen to get some experience, earn some cash and gain a competitive edge for your career? This is for you!
About the position
We’ve got several super versatile opportunities for motivated and friendly people that are ready to learn.
We’re looking for Business Administration and/or Reception Trainees that are keen to become reception, administration or business legends!
We have multiple host employers wanting Business Administration Trainees, so we’re looking for about 4-8 people to start straight away! Some of these host employers are Medical Centres, Engineers, Occupational Therapists, Real Estate Agents, Solicitors, Accountants, Builders, Electricians etc. New host employers pop-up every week and they each want someone with slightly different skills, so if business administration is where you want to start your career, than you 100% need to send us your resume and cover letter now!
What to expect
Often there is a perception that admin or reception can be an easy gig but in actual fact, it can be really demanding and fast-paced. On any given day, you could be doing things like answering multiple phone calls, sending emails, doing paperwork, organising schedules, making appointments, data entry and so on. It all varies depending on your host employer’s business.
How long will it take and what’s the wage?
A Business Traineeship normally takes 12-24 months to complete. In the end, you come out with a nationally accredited Certificate III or IV in Business. From here, you can continue your studies or jump straight into the workforce with your new skills glowing on your resume.
Trainees get paid the standard award wage (as stipulated by the Fair Work Ombudsman). It’s certainly not millions but you do get to earn while you learn instead of racking up an enormous HECS debt that’ll take years to pay back! PLUS, you will be full time, and that means getting paid holidays!
Who we’re looking for
All you need to get started is a good attitude, motivation and a genuine willingness to learn and help the team. These are quality opportunities to gain valuable experience and get your career kick-started! So, if you’re reliable, committed to studying some more (by doing a Certificate III or IV), and keen for something new, we want to hear from you!
What skills will I learn?
One of the best parts about a Business or Business Administration Traineeship is the absolute buck load of transferable life skills you learn. Some of these are:
- Problem solving skills
- A heightened attention to detail
- Confidence communicating to different kinds of people
- Customer service and people skills
- Organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency in managing files (digitally and paper-based)
All about GTO and how this job works
Novaskill is a Group Training Organisation (GTO) which means there is a massive team of people in our business that are 100% dedicated to recruiting, mentoring and carefully matching apprentices and trainees with ‘host’ businesses. In a nutshell, we will be your legal employer; we pay you, we set you up with TAFE (or whatever RTO you need to do you training through, often this is also us) and we ensure you have everything you need to succeed in your traineeship.
The place you physically go to every day, is called your ‘host employer’. It’s their job to provide you with on-the-job support and training. It sounds complicated but it’s really not. It’s an awesome set up because you have support from two businesses (which maximises your chance of finishing fast), you get all the organisations stuff taken care of for you, and peace of mind knowing that we’ve been doing this for over 40 years.
If you feel like we’re your people and you have a good attitude with a killer work ethic, please apply ASAP with your resume and cover letter.
Please be aware that most of our host employers require you to have a P1 or above drivers’ license.
We are a proud equal opportunity employer and encourage all persons to apply. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications, we are only able to contact shortlisted candidates.
Please be advised that applications will close on Friday the 2nd of July, 2021.
Apprenticeships and traineeships combine work-based training with an employer and formal training from a training provider. They are established under training contracts between the employer and the apprentice or trainee and are regulated by the Government. They’re a great way to be paid for work, learn and earn a qualification. Find out more.
This year, we are celebrating 40 years of providing superior trainee and apprenticeship management throughout our communities. We’re proudly a not-for-profit Group Training Organisation. This means you will be employed by Novaskill but hosted by a partner employer for the duration of your apprenticeship/traineeship. You can find out more about why this way of being employed is significantly better than direct employment here.
Novaskill strives to provide opportunities for employment and educational experiences that are tailored to Indigenous culture, community, issues, and solutions. Find out more about our support systems designed specifically for Indigenous Australians here.
