SIT20416 Certificate II in Kitchen Operations
Learn industry best practices and develop a diverse range of core kitchen and hospitality skills with this entry level qualification. Students graduate with a range of well-developed skills and sound knowledge of all kitchen operations and generally work under supervision to prepare menu items and serve customers. This qualification provides a pathway to work in kitchen operations in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, coffee shops and institutions.
Potential career outcomes
Upon successful completion of the qualification, career pathways may include, but are not limited to;
– Fast Food Cook
– Catering Assistant
– Cafe Cook
Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer a traineeship for a maximum of 24 months.
This course can be delivered face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, partly online or as a combination. Please ask for more details.
This qualification required a minimum of 36 hours of work placement to give you real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practice what you learn.
There are no specific pre-requisites for this course. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.
Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality or SIT40416 Certificate IV in Hospitality.
