SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management

This qualification gives you an arsenal of knowledge that’s transferable to any workplace, plus the confidence to take on something new!

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who lead a frontline team and manage day-to-day operations of a retail store or department to implement and deliver on organisational objectives and standards. These individuals possess a range of highly developed selling and customer engagement skills with sound knowledge of product and service offerings. They work with independence, taking responsibility for their own functions and outputs.

Potential career outcomes

Upon successful completion of the qualification, career pathways may include, but are not limited to:
• Store Manager
• Department Manager
• Assistant Store Manager

Units of Competency

Students complete 11 units.

Delivery

This course can be delivered online, face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, or as a combination of both. Please ask for more details.

Duration

Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer as a traineeship for a maximum of 24 months.

Work Placement

This qualification does not require mandatory work placement. However, access to a workplace will provide a real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practise what you learn. It is suggested that at least 30 hours of work simulation/experience be undertaken.

Pre-requisites

To enrol in this course a student must meet the following:
• Have achieved a Certificate III in Retail, or
• Have relevant industry employment experience in a job role that has involved the application of skills and knowledge described in core units of competency from the SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail.

Friendly support, advice and assistance is provided by our teaching staff and Student Services Division to all students.

Pathways

Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in SIR50317 Diploma of Retail Merchandise Management. *Novaskill may not offer these qualifications.
