SIR20216 Certificate II in Retail Services

This qualification reflects the role of frontline retail team members who use a defined and limited range of operational skills to undertake workplace activities. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision of others.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.
Potential career outcomes
Upon successful completion of the qualification, career pathways may include, but are not limited to:

• Customer Service Assistant
• Point-of-Sale Operator

Students complete 12 units.
This course can be delivered face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, online or as a combination. Please ask for more details.
Students can study full time, part time as part of a traineeship with an employer. A maximum of 12 months for classroom based learners.

This qualification does not require mandatory work placement. However, access to a workplace will provide a real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practise what you learn. It is suggested that at least 30 hours of work simulation/experience be undertaken
There are no specific pre-requisites for this course. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.
Friendly support, advice and assistance is provided by our teaching staff and Student Services Division to all students.
Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in SIR30216 Certificate III in Retail.
