CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services

With the announcement of the NDIS, the Australian Government has recognised the enormous need for workers in community service. This qualification is for those seeking career advancement, job security, and that are passionate about person-centred support. At this level, workers have specialised skills and an immediate and profound impact and often work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Offering help, advice, advocacy and support to those most vulnerable, workers enable clients to live a much fuller life.

Potential career outcomes

Upon successful completion of the qualification, career options may include;
• Case Manager
• Program or Service Manager
• Supervisor or Team Leader
• Employment Consultant


Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer a traineeship for a maximum of 24 months.

Delivery method

This course can be delivered face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, online or as a combination. Please ask for more details.

Work Placement

This qualification requires a minimum of 100 hours of work placement to give you real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practice what you learn.


There are no specific pre-requisites for this course. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.

Student Support

Friendly support, advice and assistance is provided by our teaching staff and Student Services Division to all students.

Units of Competency

Students complete 16 units.

Articulation Pathways

Graduates can articulate to a Bachelor of Social Welfare, Bachelor of Social Science or Bachelor of
Human Services where they will receive up to 96 credit points (33% of their Bachelor degree)! **
