CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure & Health

Go to work knowing you’re making real difference to someones mental wellbeing.

If you enjoy working with those more vulnerable members of the community and have an interest in leisure activities, this is for you. This qualification reflects the role of workers participating in the design, implementation and evaluation of leisure, health activities and programs for clients in one or more sector areas. Workers may be in residential facilities and/or in community agencies and day centres, completing specialised tasks and functions in relation to leisure and health. While workers are responsible for their own outputs, work is carried out under direct or indirect supervision within defined organisation guidelines.

Upon successful completion of the qualification, career options may include;
• Leisure and Therapy Assistant
• Leisure and Activities Worker

Units of Competency

Students complete 17 units.

Delivery

This course can be delivered online, face-to-face in a classroom, self-paced via correspondence, or as a combination of both. Please ask for more details.

Duration

Students are able to study full time, part time or with an employer as a traineeship for a maximum of 24 months.

Work Placement

This qualification requires a minimum of 120 hours of work placement to give you real life, on-the-job experience and the opportunity to practice what you learn.

Pre-requisites

There are no specific pre-requisites for this course, however students must hold a curent Australian Federal Police Check, Working with Children Clearance and valid First Aid Certificate. Please ask for more details. Students may be required to undertake an initial pre-enrolment assessment to determine their suitability for this level of study.

Pathways

Graduates may choose to further their study through enrolment in CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services or other related qualifications. *Novaskill may not offer this qualification.
